Sevilla Target Super Eagles Forward Sadiq Umar to Challenge Kelechi Iheanacho

Sevilla seek to secure Super Eagles forward to compete with Kelechi Iheanacho
The Nigerian attacker has faced challenges making an impression over the last two seasons, but he might need to relocate to rekindle his profession.

Spanish La Liga side Sevilla have initiated negotiations with Real Sociedad to acquire Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar to bolster their offense, Winonbetonline states.

Sevilla have struggled with scoring since the beginning of the season. They added several athletes to their roster last summer, with Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke, and Peque Fernandez among the arrivals.

Nonetheless, they have only scored 14 times in 15 matches in La Liga this term, as they occupy 11th place. Iheanacho and Fernandez are yet to find the net this campaign. The sole new striker to score is Ejuke, who has netted once in nine appearances but is presently sidelined with a hamstring issue.

According to a report from Ekrem Konur, Sevilla aim to enhance their attacking options, with Real Sociedad’s forward Sadiq Umar emerging as a primary target. This comes as the Nigerian has encountered difficulties at Sociedad this season.

It marks the first occasion that there are discussions of a probable departure for Sadiq. However, it appears achievable, as reports indicate that the Nigerian is open to a temporary switch to Sevilla.

If the deal materializes, Sadiq will need to contest with Iheanacho and Isaac Romero for a spot in the starting lineup.
