The battle for the Pichichi Trophy is far from over. Kylian Mbappé has nearly caught up with Robert Lewandowski in the Spanish league’s top scorer rankings.
Last Thursday, FC Barcelona secured a 3-0 victory over Osasuna in a postponed match. “Lewy” started on the bench but made an impact after coming on in the second half, scoring one goal.
Ahead of the 29th round of La Liga, Lewandowski led the scoring charts, three goals ahead of second-placed Mbappé. However, the Real Madrid star responded in style.
The Frenchman found the net twice against Leganés, bringing his tally to 22 goals—just one behind Lewandowski, who remains at the top of the Pichichi race.
Barcelona will play their match this round on Sunday at 15:15, hosting Girona in the highly anticipated Catalan derby.
