Kylian Mbappe stated he stayed devoted to the French national squad despite not being selected for recent matches, and that he valued the choices made by manager Didier Deschamps. “The French squad has always been the pinnacle of football, it’s the national side. I’ve consistently said there’s nothing more crucial. My passion for the French squad remains constant,” Mbappe remarked. “I’ve always put in my utmost effort,” added the France skipper, who hasn’t appeared for Les Bleus since two Nations League clashes in early September.
“You represent your nation and that’s it… I’ve always viewed the French national squad as the ultimate standard. I did everything feasible to showcase it as best as I could.”
The 25-year-old forward is celebrated as one of the globe’s top players and transferred to Spanish titans Real Madrid in July. He has 86 appearances for France but wasn’t chosen for the rosters for their latest Nations League encounters in October and November. “I can’t discuss November because it was a decision by the manager (Deschamps) and I’ll support what he decided. I completely honor his choice because he is in charge. I wished to attend but I can’t explain why,” he shared. Real have faltered at the beginning of the campaign and face the risk of being knocked out from the Champions League group stage, sitting 24th and bottom in the qualification spots.
“It’s not the greatest start to the campaign, either as a team or individually. We’re getting ready for the instances that will matter. It hasn’t lived up to expectations but at Real, you’re required to excel in the latter part of the season,” Mbappe expressed.
