Diego Costa rejected Peñarol: ”He doesn’t see it as an option

Ignacio Ruglio, president of Peñarol, confirmed to ‘Sport890’ that they are interested in Diego Costa for their attack. He commented that they also spoke with Radamel Falcao. None of them, unfortunately, said “yes” to the Uruguayan club, explained the president, and not for economic reasons.
The days go by and Diego Costa still has no destination. There is no shortage of suitors, but still no club has managed to get a ‘yes’ from ‘Pantera’.

Peñarol, Uruguayan team, confirmed that they were interested in the striker. It did so through its president, Ignacio Ruglio. “We spoke with Diego Costa, Falcao and other famous players,” he told ‘Sport890’.

Ruglio said they are looking for a striker and a left-back. The options they had on the table, at least until now, would have rejected the Charrúa club’s proposal: “The reality is that they don’t see Uruguay as an option. It’s not a question of money.”

“We made offers that are a fortune for the country and the players are grateful for the effort, but they analyze other things and end up not coming”, added the president.

The open door of Peñarol ends up closing on Diego Costa. The Spanish-Brazilian is free since the termination of his contract with Atlético Mineiro.
