Several of Bayern Munich’s big names indirectly praised Bo Svensson after Saturday’s meeting with Union Berlin.
Fortunately, Bayern Munich ended up defeating Bo Svensson’s Union Berlin 3-0 on Saturday night.
Here they were ahead with 2-0 at the break.
But even though the victory was founded in the first half, it is actually exactly the part of the game that several of Bayern Munich’s profiles praise Union Berlin for after the game.
Roses, which are indirectly for the club’s Danish head coach:
Vincent Kompany:
– The first half was marked by Union Berlin’s strong performance. They defended really well. I was a bit scared because I don’t think we realized how dangerous a game it was in the first half. It was 50/50 sometimes. It wasn’t an easy game so it was a great result.
Harry Kane:
– It was a really good performance from us. It was not an easy fight. We knew that Berlin is a well-organised and compact team who are good at countering. There were some moments in the first half where we had to be careful.
Thomas Müller:
– If we were to analyze the match in detail, there were certainly one or two situations today (Saturday, ed.) where we were actually quite lucky.
Bo Svensson himself is also satisfied with what Union Berlin delivered in the first 45 minutes at the Allianz Arena:
– Congratulations to Bayern on the well-deserved victory. I’m happy with our first half. We let very little slip through, which sounds strange when the score was 2-0 at half-time. We made a personal mistake with the first goal and the second goal was simply world class. My team gave everything, so I can’t really blame them, says the Danish Union Berlin head coach.
With the 3-0 victory, Bayern Munich continues to top the Bundesliga, while Union Berlin is just outside the European rankings in seventh place.
